Privacy policy

Spark Up Electrical Works Pty Ltd (ABN 34 687 646 233), trading as Spark Up Electrical Works, respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or engage us for electrical work, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We are a Level 2 accredited electrical contracting business based in Kurmond, New South Wales. We do not sell products online, we do not take payments through this website, and we do not operate an online store.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, including to reflect changes to our practices or to comply with the law. We will post the updated policy on this website and change the date below.

What we collect

When you submit the quote request form on this website, we collect the name, contact number, email address and street address you enter, and the description of the job you provide.

Our website also records technical information automatically when you submit that form: your IP address, your browser's user agent string, and the page you submitted from. We use this only to identify and block automated abuse of the form.

If you call or email us, we collect whatever you choose to tell us. If we quote or carry out work for you, we keep the records we need to do the job and to meet our legal and insurance obligations, including the site address and details of the work performed.

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. On the service areas page, hovering a postcode loads a small Google map of that suburb, which also discloses your IP address to Google. No map loads unless you ask for one. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking on this website.

How we use it

We use your personal information to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange and carry out electrical work, invoice you, keep records required by law, and contact you about work we have done or are scheduled to do.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where we need to:

• With our web host and website provider, who store this website and the enquiries submitted through it.
• With our email provider, because quote requests are sent to us by email.
• With contractors or suppliers where that is necessary to carry out the work you have asked for.
• With our insurer, accountant or legal advisers where necessary.
• Where we are required or authorised to do so by law, including to a network operator or regulator in connection with Level 2 accredited work.

Storage and security

Enquiries submitted through this website are stored in the website's database and emailed to us. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Our email is provided by a service whose servers may be located outside Australia. By sending us an enquiry you consent to that disclosure.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests for as long as we may reasonably need them to respond to you and to keep a record of work quoted or performed, and then for as long as required by law, insurance or tax obligations. Where we no longer need your information we take reasonable steps to delete it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, tell us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are still not satisfied you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
